Speech therapy tailored to meet the individual child and family's needs
Welcome to Sweet Speech! As a mother of three, I understand the complexity of keeping up with differing schedules and responsibilities. I have also experienced the need for various therapies for my children firsthand. As a parent who has lived it, I want to provide services to my clients and families with the understanding that the family knows best. That is why our focus is on parent and caregiver coaching to carry over the skilled interventions into the home. A parent is their child's best teacher!

SERVICES PROVIDED
SPEECH / LANGUAGE THERAPY
*Speech therapy focuses on the way a child sounds and how easily they are understood. This includes speech clarity / articulation, stuttering / fluency, and voice. Is your child struggling to speak clearly or to be understood? Do they get frustrated when communicating with adults or peers? If so, they might benefit from a speech evaluation!
*Language consists of the vocabulary, grammar, and social structures of both what we understand and what we use. Is your child a late talker? Do they struggle with appropriate grammar or telling a coherent story? Do they have a hard time following directions or answering questions? If your child can speak clearly, but only uses a limited amount of words, they may be demonstrating a language delay.
FEEDING / SWALLOWING THERAPY
*Feeding and swallowing is a complex system that typically developing individual's don't consciously have to think about as it naturally happens. Interruptions to this system can aversely impact the child and the family unit. Think about how much of our culture revolves around food and mealtimes! A feeding disorder can have many different looks: a picky eater, excessive drooling, coughing, choking, long meal times, avoiding food or mealtimes, problematic mealtime behaviors, gagging, vomiting, difficulty gaining weight, or other difficulty eating / drinking. If your child has any of these symptoms, a feeding evaluation may be beneficial for your child.
